I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if this was a Beyonce single, “Heard Em All” would be all over the radio and heralded as some game-changing next level shit. However, its an Amerie joint and her misfortunes with bad promotion continues as the track doesn’t seem to be setting the airwaves on fire. I guess if you don’t sound like a robot on your song nowadays, you will not be getting an Evite from the folks who determine what the mass audience hears and sees… *sigh*
But yes, the video… once you get pass the similarities it has in the beginning to RiRi’s “Disturbia”, its actually a decent effort. Ames hits you with some dancehall-influenced booty pops wit’ her girls before taking the dance party outside for a couple of quick PCD hair tosses with her troupe of GaGa via Aguilera look-a-likes. Factor in a Mad Max truck, a dungeon dance, and a continued liberal use of lighting effects from countless Hollywood thrillers where some hostage is being questioned, and you’ve pretty much got “Disturbi-again”, but without all the freaky Trent Reznor influences. Grade: B
