OK, so I’m on a bit of a Daley high right now considering that I spent my birthday checking out his 1rst US show here in NYC (photgraphic evidence can be found here)—- I feel like that night is gonna be one of those “I was there when…” kind of moments cuz this guy definitely has “blow up” potential.
So a third of the way through his acoustic set he sang a song that he introduced as “new” and “from his forthcoming album” which had me amped cuz I’ve worn out his mixtape Those Who Wait and I was psyched to hear some “new” material. He then launched into “Blame The World” and even had us in the audience helping him out with back-up vocals for the chorus. Cut to me Googling the song days later only to find out that the U.K. was put onto the track almost a year ago! We’re… or maybe I’M late! Ay yo D, what was up with all that “new song” business?—- had a brother all bamboozled ‘n’ ish!
Yeah, apparently “Blame…” popped up in January 2011 and was positioned as a song that was going to be featured on Daley’s forthcoming EP of the same name. I’m assuming the Blame The World EP eventually became Those Who Wait although “Blame The World” has yet to be released commercially at all… as far as I know. The video below once again proves that this man’s voice is not to be played with and R&B cats here in the U.S. betta stop playin’ with this all this europop/autotune/sex you up nonsense and get back to the business of making some real ish cuz Daley is gunnin’ for their spots.
If you missed it the first time, be sure to check out my post on Daley’s debut mixtape here which also features a generous download link—- yes, legal FREE MUSIC… and it’s d*mn good!
