Ugh… I can’t with these two. This is video number four from Timbaland’s Shock Value 2 and once again I was wondering when it was all gonna be over.
OK yes, the teaming of JT and Timbaland has produced some memorable singles for Justin in the past, but the annoying constant pairing of the two and their onscreen smugness that reads “yup, we did it again” when they so didn’t always annoys the sh*t outta me. Had we known that we’d have to tolerate the antics of this (not quite so) dynamic duo for much longer than a single cornball VMA performance, then perhaps we wouldn’t have been so quick to give props to “Cry Me A River” and “My Love”.
“Carry Out” comes off like a Dollar Store version of Hype Williams’ video for Kanye’s “Gold Digger”. The drive-in theme is obvious, the cake-eating is anything but sexy, and the stripper choreo is yawn-worthy. I am thankful, though, that Timbaland’s weird facial contortions is kept to a minimum this time around. However, with these two runnin’ around acting like their partnership is on some Lennon/McCartney type ish, I’mma need them to come with something harder than a second rate coat check jam with lame hot girl/fast food metaphors cuz I, for one, do not have a taste for this Timbo/Lake special with extra cheese—- sorry, couldn’t resist.
